Dr Tyson Welzel has held clinical, governance and innovation leadership roles across health systems in Southern Africa, Switzerland and the UAE. As a member of the Group Executive Committee of Mediclinic Group, he took group-level responsibility for health technology assessments, digital transformation and innovation, and secured Executive Committee and main Board approval for a long-term innovation plan. He founded Acuvera in July 2025, an advisory to healthcare organisations on strategy, governance and operations, with offices in Switzerland, the United Kingdom and South Africa. He is currently completing the INSEAD International Directors Programme.
