Dr Welzel is seeking non-executive appointments where clinical and quality governance, research ethics oversight, and digital and data governance are material to the board's work.
Dr Welzel is the founder and managing partner of Acuvera Consulting GmbH, a healthcare advisory he intends to continue operating alongside a board portfolio. He discloses this at the outset: a nomination committee will wish to assess whether the firm has, or could have, a commercial relationship with the appointing organisation, and he will accept whatever restriction on the firm's business with that organisation a board considers necessary.
He has not yet held an independent non-executive directorship. Both roles below were at wholly-owned subsidiaries of his employer.
